Die ’Chaos in Motion’ Tour führte die Band um den ganzen Globus - Dream Theater spielten 115 Shows in 105 Städten in 35 Ländern auf fünf Kontinenten vor hunderttausenden Fans. "Chaos in Motion 2007/2008" ist die neueste der DVD Serie, die die Live-Auftritte der Band während der kompletten Tour dokumentiert, anders als die letzten drei Platin DVDs "Metropolis 2000: Live Scenes From New York", "Live at Budokan" und "Score", die jeweils nur ein Konzert zeigten.

Schlagzeuger und Creative Director der DVD, Mike Portnoy, hat seine persönlichen Filmaufnahmen zur Verfügung gestellt, um die Fans mit dem ultimativen Tour Souvenir zu beglücken. Er stellte über drei Stunden Material zusammen, das aus kompletten Liveauftritten in Rotterdam, Buenos Aires, Toronto, Boston, Bangkok und Vancouver besteht. Die zweite Disc ist vollgepackt mit Bonusmaterial wie Promovideos, Live-Projektionen, einer Photogallerie und einer 90-minütigen Dokumentation, die dem Zuschauer das Gefühl vermittelt, er würde selbst im Tourbus mitfahren, indem sie einen intimen Einblick in das Leben der Band und ihrer Crew auf Tour gibt. Quasi ein virtueller Backstage Pass.

Dream Theatre's latest live DVD features raw footge captured throughout the entire World Tour, assembling over 3 hours of complete live performances spanning the globe and taken from shows in Rotterdam, Buenos Aires, Toronto, Boston, Bangkok and Vancouver, and over 2 1/2 hours of Bonus Material.
